Roland Special Cold Dish

Come the month of May, many diners are thinking where to bring their mothers to celebrate Mother’s Day. Wine Lovers take this opportunity to wish all Mothers and Mothers-to-be a fantastic Mother’s Day! A suggestion from us will be to enjoy with Joostenberg’s Noble Late Harvest 2008. This is a sweet white wine from a wine estate in Paarl/Western Cape. Cellarmaster Tyrrel Myburgh said, “from a 20 year old vineyard, consistently fabulous, the Chenin Blanc Noble Late Harvest elegantly captures the usual Jasmine, lime Marmalade scents.” Platter’s Guide of 2011 has rated it a 4.5 star! Not bad for a sweet wine! This is our favorite as well from Wine Lovers’ cellar. Also we are bringing this on limited stock.

We can guarantee you that you will fully enjoy this Noble Late Harvest sweet wine with the fabulous Roland’s Cold Platter Dish (see picture) from Roland Restaurant at Marine Parade Central, Multi-storey carpark, top floor.

Another of our favorite white wine is the Joostenberg’s Fairhead. This is made from  Chenin Blanc and Viognier grapes. The Chenin Blanc gives the wine a citrus and green apple flavor, while the Viognier gives the fresh greenish straw color and lemon-lime, white peach aroma.

When you are at the Roland Restaurant and order your wines, remember to say you get the recommendations from Wine Lovers website!

Situated at Marina Country Club (Punggol), this is the latest attraction to busy city dwellers to have a relaxed time by the Straits of Johor’s coastline. You can view the beautiful Singapore sunset and yachts berthed at the pier. Best time to order a bottle of White Sparkling Wine from Slanghoek Winery. Remember the label: Vin Doux and ask the friendly waitress or waiter to order and drink to your heart’s content! It is also not expensive and at below $50/-. Enjoy with the Spring Rolls or the Lamb Chop from Channel SAM. Salut!

Many trendsetters are aware that wine drinking is no more just the traditional reds.  They know what they want and they go get it. Sparkling wines have been around for a long time but only recently it becomes more acceptable to public besides drinking sparkling wines only during celebrations or wedding dinners.

Slanghoek, known for its fine weather, beautiful mountains and valley, produces some of the best Sparkling wines using Muscat de Alexandrie (Hanepoot) and Chenin Blanc grapes.  One fine sparkling white wine which Wine Lovers like to recommend to you is called Vin Doux. This is based on 100% Muscat de Alexandrie and hence semi-sweet.  The grapes were sourced from trellised vineyards and bush vines and hand harvested/picked fully ripe in the autumn month (March).  It is best served with lobster salad, steamed crabs, Thai-styled steamed fish or your braised duck with soya source.

Wine Lovers is proud to offer this wine to diners visiting Channel SAM Restaurant at Marina Country Club, Punggol Seventeenth Avenue.  Alternatively, you can visit WaterEdge Cafe at the SAF Yacht Club on Tanah Merah Coast Road or the famous Roland Restaurant at Marine Parade Central.   Please do us a favor and tell the restaurant that you heard this first from Wine Lovers website.
